The March meeting of the East Midlands branch was generously hosted by Experian, and we were delighted to welcome Chris Sanders to explain how the ICM’s Quality In Credit Management scheme works and the benefits of accreditation to businesses and their credit staff.
From humble beginnings as an idea that arose in informal conversation, QICM status has now been awarded to approaching 50 organisations. Chris used many of these as examples to demonstrate the wide variety of types of business, and size of credit team, that have successfully been accredited through a rigorous process of assessment. The benefits to those businesses are clearly tangible in many cases, with credit managers reporting reduced audits, improved credit insurance terms and new business won, as well as generally improved results and customer service.
Delegates enjoyed an excellent buffet beforehand and the committee would like to extend its thanks both to Chris and Experian for making the evening such a success.
