Our annual joint event with ICM London Branch will be held on Friday 27 June 2014 at the prestigious Hertfordshire Golf & Country Club in Broxbourne. Whilst this is only the fourth time that East of England (formerly Essex) Branch has participated, 2014 marks the 21st time that London Branch has organised a Golf Day.
By popular demand the venue will be the same as for the last three years – the prestigious Hertfordshire Golf & Country Club, Broxbournebury Mansion, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire EN10 7PY .
The timetable is:-
11:30 Arrival for Tea, Coffee & Bacon Rolls
13:06 First Tee Off
18:00 Dinner and prize giving (or earlier depending on the field)
We play in four ball teams so it would be ideal if you or your company can make up a team. Clients, friends and family are welcome to participate.
The standard of golf is usually variable and we attract players of all levels, many of whom have no handicap. To commemorate the 21st “Key to the Door” Golf Day this year we are going back to the original format of a Stableford competition, using 7/8ths of handicap.
The Stableford system of scoring was invented in 1931 by Dr Frank Stableford of the Wallasey & Royal Liverpool Golf Clubs and the first competition under Stableford Rules was played on 16 May 1932 at Wallasey.
There will be individual and runner up prizes for the highest individual Stableford points score, a team prize for the highest Stableford points score, a nearest the pin prize and a longest drive prize.
For bacon rolls before we start, 18 holes of championship course golf, a two course dinner and prize giving the cost is just £43 per person.
