The West Midlands Branch of the Institute of Credit Management held the Annual Golf Day in May at Bromsgrove Golf Course.
The event continues to attract Members and guests to enjoy a very pleasantly convivial experience. Again this year 56 golfers took to the greens, after having enjoyed a substantial bacon sandwich washed down with lashings of tea and coffee. Some took advantage of a free bucket of balls to fine tune their swings and others had a go at putting, although only one person actually entered a card for the putting competition. The win by default was accepted very kindly by all those taking part when the prizes were presented following the excellent meal, provided by Bromsgrove Golf Club. This event has been held at Bromsgrove from the beginning and this must be the 10th outing this year. Bromsgrove Golf Club always ensure a good atmosphere, good food and drink - the basics needed to make the day go with a swing! However, the real hero of the day is organiser Andrew Rippon who pulls it all together brilliantly - his efforts make the day one to remember, especially in the current economic climate. Everyone was able to put doom and gloom behind them and enjoy a relaxing day with friends, colleagues and business contacts. Even the weather was kind to us, although late on in the afternoon there was a shower but it did nothing to dampen spirits when prizes were presented to: Overall winner for the men - Matt Frip received the Direct Legal Trophy - Direct Legal has been a staunch supporter of this event for the West Midlands Branch for many years, and the committee appreciates its continued support.
